ESAM side channel vacuum pumps operate using centrifugal force generated by a precision impeller, creating spiral air movement within a peripheral side channel. This produces consistent, pulse-free vacuum without internal contact, resulting in an oil-free design with no internal wear.

In practice, this simple, non-contact design delivers extremely reliable, low-maintenance performance. The main bearings are positioned outside the compression chamber, protecting them from heat generated during operation. Bearings are sealed for life, contributing to a typical service life of 10–20 years depending on operating conditions.

Manufactured in Italy from die-cast aluminium, ESAM side channel vacuum pumps are compact, lightweight and highly robust. Units can be installed horizontally or vertically and are suitable for continuous 24/7 industrial operation.
