Winter 2007 The Train System link between University College London Hospital and the Laboratories in Whitfield Street approximately 600m away is now operational. Carriers cross beneath Tottenham Court Road on their journey between the two sites.
Elsewhere, Quirepace have now commenced installation works at the prestigious Birmingham New Hospital on the Queen Elizabeth site in Edgebaston.
The acquisition of BVC Lamson is beginning to bring benefits to the organisation and this will result in enhanced services to customers and new opportunities in 2008.
Summer 2007 Quirepace Ltd has acquired the business and assets of Barloworld Vacuum Technology Plc, which incorporates both the BVC and Lamson brands. This business purchase was completed 27th July 2007 and returns the company to private ownership.
Quirepace is the leading supplier of large pneumatic tube system networks to the healthcare sector with extensive experience in retail and industrial systems. The activities of Lamson are complementary to those of Quirepace and the combined operation will be able to offer a comprehensive product range backed by an extensive organisation for installation and after sales support.
BVC will remain an important part of the business portfolio and will continue to specialise in vacuum technology for industrial applications, including industrial vacuum cleaners, centralised vacuum cleaning systems and exhauster/blowers. BVC is renowned for quality, reliability and flexibility of design.
Spring 2007. The St. Helens and Whiston Hospitals PFI project team have chosen the Quirepace ATLAS system for this major hospital development. This is the latest project to recognize the performance advantages of using the ATLAS 10 system linear coupler carrier server. Elsewhere, in the first quarter of 2007 another five NHS Trusts have chosen Quirepace ATLAS equipment for their new site-wide Pneumatic Tube System installations. Two of these installations are replacements for aging competitors’ equipment.
Spring 2007. The 18 system 130 station installation at Manchester Royal Infirmary is progressing on programme with substantial parts of the plantroom installed. The first 9 systems are now in operation. This installation demonstrates the potential of the Quirepace ATLAS equipment. The network is built around the unique and powerful Linear Coupler Carrier Server that has proved so successful in many other large hospital projects.
